THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE 6-LEVEL ENGLISH COMPETENCIES FRAMEWORK FOR VIETNAM

 

English language programs in accordance with the 6-level English Competencies Framework for Vietnam

-    A1: Basic 

-    A2: Elementary (required for College level)

-    B1: Intermediate (required for Undergraduate, Master's Level)

-    B2: Intermediate - Advanced (required for College level with English Major , PhD)

-    C1: Advanced (required for University level with English Major)

-    C2: Highly proficient

Pursuant to Circular 01/2014 / TT-BGDĐT dated January 24, 2014, by the Ministry of Education and Training promulgating the 6-level English Competencies Framework for Vietnam applicable to the foreign language training programs, the foreign language training centers and foreign language learners in the national education system. (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2)

Types of examination: Consisting of 3 parts (135 minutes)

-    Reading and Writing (90 minutes):

·   The Reading test has 5 sections  (35 questions)

·   The Writing test has 3 sections (7 questions)

·   Each section has a variety of questions and different types of topics to be tested. Accounting for 50% of the total score.

-    Listening (30 minutes):

·   The Listening test has 4 sections (25 questions).

·   Accounting for 25% of the total score.

-    Speaking (15 minutes):

·   The Speaking test has four sections,

·   You have two examiners, one talking to You and the other just listening to You.

·   Accounting for 25% of the total score.

 

EVALUATION

-          The total score of the 3 tests is 100 points.

-           Candidates getting 50.0 points, no less than 30% points per test are considered as satisfactory.
